One Sinful Night
by Kaitlin O’Riley
Vivienne Montgomery is a little native and unprepared for the scandal that erupts when Aidan Kavanaugh abruptly leaves Galway for London, abandoning Vivienne with her ruined reputation. She had been allowed her independence when she was younger and gave herself to Aidan before their wedding. Their childhood friendship blossomed into love and Vivienne trusted Aidan with everything. Ten years later Vivienne has a new life, far from those who know her past.
With a bitter and controlling mother who doesn’t want to see her only son give up his future as a prime English gentleman with an Irish girl, Aidan leaves Ireland and Vivienne behind for his new life. Aidan Kavanaugh never forgot the magical summer he and Vivienne shared, or the betrayal he felt on finding her in another mans arms. Aidan has embraced his duties as Earl of Whitlock since leaving Ireland including a pending marriage to a young lady who will be a perfect wife, except she is not Vivienne. When he meets Vivienne at a house party ten years later he is still bitter about what he thinks is her betrayal, but is also still attracted. Others are determined to keep them apart. Will Vivienne lose her reputation and heart all over again?
This is the first book I have read by Kaitlin O’Riley and she has written a story of betrayal and loneliness. She shows the emotions of the characters in the past and the future. It is emotionally and sensually satisfying and the plot developments are great. Readers of historical romance will not want to miss reading One Sinful Night.
