Lifelines
by CJ Lyons
Lydia Fiore, is the new ER attending physician at Pittsburgh’s Angel of Mercy Medical Center. This is her first day on staff and it is not a good day. She loses a patient, who happens to be the son of the Chief of surgery. Now to save her career Lydia must discover the truth behind her patient’s death, even as it leads her into unfamiliar and risky territory.
However, she is not alone in this endeavor. Amanda is a med student with problems of her own; Gina, a resident with a chip on her shoulder; and Nora, the no nonsense charge nurse with a cool head and fiery temper. These four women learn to depend on each other in their fight to save lives. There is even a paramedic who’d like to try his beside manner on Lydia.
I found Lifelines by CJ Lyons to be a very suspenseful thriller and a gripping page turner. It outlines what to expect with operating procedures that happen in an emergency room. I also enjoyed the medical romance between Lydia and medic Trey Garrison. I am looking forward to reading more from CJ Lyons and I hope to continue with some of the characters who are present in this story.
