Enticing the Earl
by Nicole Byrd

Lauryn Applegate is determined to retrieve the deed to her beloved father-in-law’s estate after he lost it during one of his gambling spells. She offers herself as a courtesan to the Earl of Sutton who now owns the land.

The Earl of Sutton is frankly amused. This winsome and delicate lady has no experience with such wicked behavior. But he is drawn to her beauty and to teach her a lesson he agrees to a two week trial engagement. After a few weeks of pleasure the Earl finds he has the most to learn. They leave London and travel to his estate only to find it full of guests that his half brother Carter has invited. To get away from them, he takes Lauryn to his hunting lodge to be alone with her. But his half brother Carter and the Contessa show up there also.

Nicole Byrd has added a bit of mystery to this story which Lauryn tries to help the Earl solve. It involves the appearance of a missing ship, the smuggling of drugs and trying to find out who is responsible for the murders happening in the small coastal town. The love scenes are fantastic and Carter and the Contessa bring a few laughs into the story. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading Nicole Byrd, for they will enjoy Enticing the Earl as well.
